I’ve been long time user of laser printers, but this is my first all-in-one laser printer. It works good as laser printer and copy machine but disapointed in fax. It produces nice print very fast as printer and copier. So far so good! However, I’ve a serious issues in fax. First problem is ring volume not adjustable, even after 0(my intention was turn off) setting, still ringing so loud. Second issue is fax speed not adjustable. I use a MagicJack for my house phone line that uses VoIP. MagicJack surgested to use slowest speed for faxing over VoIP. I’ve exchanged few emails with Canon tech support but the customer service person was not knowledgeble. I’ve gave up on them. In conclusion, it’s good laser copier and printer for the money if you don’t mind loud ringing.

Suppose this Canon L90 is located in my upstairs office, but right now I’m in the downstairs kitchen preparing lunch. The phone rings, & when I pick up the extension phone in the kitchen, there is a beep, meaning it’s a fax.
With my ancient Panasonic, I simply press Star-9 (* 9), and the fax-phone in my office takes over & begins to print the incoming fax. I don’t have to leave the kitchen, and can pick up the print-out at any time.
But with the Canon L90, in order not to lose the incoming fax, I have to run through the house, up the stairs to my office, and press a button on the L90; then I have to run back down to the kitchen (IIRC within 30 seconds) and hang up the extension phone in the kitchen. What a pain in the butt!
The L90 might be OK if you have a separate & dedicated telephone line exclusively for faxes, but it is just plain unacceptable for someone who has a single telephone line with one or more extensions (we have 6 phones in all).

The product itself is alright.. nothing too great. We tried to turn the ring tone off and it took a long time to figure that out. (Maybe I am just stupid)… but when I told the vendor that my bookkeepers did not like this machine and want to exchange for another one.. was told that, there is a no return policy or exchange policy. Stuck… that’s where we are now.

This is my second brother laser fax machine; I replaced the first after 5+ years to get the 33.6 increased speed, not because it wore out (or broke). I have had it over 13 months and remain glad I upgraded; it’s fast enough both in and out (just saw the review complaining about this when I came to Amazon to buy toner). Maybe commercial fax machines are faster but for my home based business its quite sufficient(1 to 50 page faxes are my norm). What I really like about Brother is the ink cartridges; use them for my laser printer needs too. My cost per page are lower than HP ever was and I prefer having a dedicated fax better then an all in one. The only thing I would change about Brother is the firm’s lack of recycling involvement. They do not provide a prepaid label so I have to drop the cartridges elsewhere.

We bought this for a small office and had this machine for a month and it is working well. Very fast compared to the old fax. It was fairly easy to set up. I’m happy with this purchase. The old machine jammed a lot. We have not had a jam yet on this machine.

No fax machine is flawless, but I really like this machine. We’ve had one at the office for… a couple years now (?) and it never has problems. I bought one for my home office about a month ago and I’m very happy with it.
The only annoyance I have is along the same lines as comments others have made… that it goes into sleep mode after you feed the pages through. However, when it sends it tells you that it is sending if you are watching the display. So I don’t have a real issue with the display. And although the display is small it is also backlit (!) – which is great for me because the machine is in a dark corner of the office.
I read the reviews here on Amazon before buying and they helped to sway me towards this unit. I can say that I’m very happy with my choice so far.

This is an excellent home office 4-in-1 machine. I have tried fax, scan, and print, all work flawlessly. Before I made the decision to buy, I was concerned that it would not be able to scan multiple pages into one pdf document because no reviews or descriptions cover that feature. So I waited for about two month to research this. I finally decided to buy it and try it out. It not only can scan multiple pages into one pdf doc, it turns out to be super easy to do. We just tried this with a 30 page document scan, and it was super fast and easy. Faxing is also much faster than our old machine. I am more than pleased with this machine.

Good Print Quality; Problematic network connections – jedi –
Print quality is fine and copier works well. After trying for a long time, could not get wireless connection to work – too many complications.
With the wired network connection for LAN, every time router is restarted, or some devices go on-line, printer starts “Receiving Data” and starts printing continuously – garbage characters and tons of pages – plugging on and off the printer, stopping printer spooler service, canceling documents, nothing works unless I disconnect the Cat 5 cable from the back. Reconnecting the cable starts the printing again. Brother offers cheap products with many features but I doubt they are thoroughly tested products – I have settled for USB connection to my PC, and given up on the network features, the major reason for getting this product. All in all, don’t buy it if you are using it in a LAN setting, especially wireless LAN.
Toner… Toner… Toner – Out of Toner – Delaware
I set up the machine for my small home network, connected to a router instead of directly to a pc. If you are running any of your computers wireless and use a firewall then pour yourself a drink and settle in for the night because this configuration will take you a while.
Once set up, the machine works very well except….
Less than one year into the life of the machine it started eating toner. You replace a cartidge, and less than a week later it tells you ‘toner end of life’ and stops printing (no option to override and print anyway)
I have replaced 4 cartidges in the last 5 weeks and am told by Brother that since I bought the toner more than 90 ago (I bought 6 toner cartridges when I bought the printer) that I am out of luck. I didn’t think my 4th graders paper on Yellowstone park used THAT much ink.
